Disney Channel Actress Carla Jeffery Dies at 33, Known for ‘Zombies’ Role

US actress Carla Jeffery, best known for playing cheerleader Bree in Disney Channel’s Zombies film series, has died at the age of 33.

Her death was announced by her agent, Carla Alexander, who remembered Jeffery as a talented performer whose energy and smile made a lasting impression on those around her. No cause of death has been disclosed.

Jeffery gained recognition with her role as Bree in the 2018 Disney Channel musical film Zombies. She returned as the character in the two follow-up films released in 2020 and 2022, building a connection with fans of the popular franchise.

Before her Disney Channel appearances, Jeffery also had a recurring role on the HBO comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm. She appeared as a member of the Black family that moves in with Larry David after Hurricane Katrina.

Her management company, Alexanders Talent, said Jeffery had been part of its management family for more than two decades. The company said it had watched her develop from a talented young performer into an established actress.

“Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Carla Jeffery,” the company said in a statement shared on social media.

The company described Jeffery as someone who would be remembered for her laughter, talent and infectious smile, while expressing condolences to her family and loved ones. It also asked the public to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn her death.

Jeffery’s passing has prompted tributes from those who knew her and audiences who followed her work, particularly through the Zombies franchise. She leaves behind a screen career that began at a young age and continued across television and film.
